Voluntary Income Tax Assistance
The Program
The VITA Program offers free tax help to low- to middle-income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.
VITA @ DU
DU's VITA program began as a program for international students. Accounting students and members of Beta Alpha Psi gain experience preparing tax returns and, in the case of international students, dealing with international tax treaties. Each return, citizen and foreign, is reviewed by a Certified Public Accountant.
For Clients
The VITA program is open by appointment only, register here: http://duvitataxprep2013.eventbrite.com. The volunteers for the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program are protected under the Volunteer Protection Act, and as such, we must set limits for our site. Please check the registration page for details.
For more information(i.e. what to expect and what to bring), please check out http://www.coloradovita.org/
